Our Story
What began as a small, hands on operation grew from a desire to live simply and intentionally. We wanted to create products that last, work that matters, and a business rooted in integrity.
Over time, our work expanded into a community of makers, collaborators, and customers who share our values. At the center of it all is a belief that how something is made matters just as much as the final product.
We are committed to crafting enduring goods, meaningful work, and practical skills that help families live well, and without waste.
In October of 2024, we were still making every product by hand on our dining room table, and while we were incredibly grateful for the flood of orders, we were also completely overwhelmed.
We knew we didn’t want to sacrifice quality or move away from handmade, so I reached out to local moms and asked if they’d be interested in working from home. I would train them, provide the supplies, and they would drop off finished products and pick up new supplies once a week, and help us keep up.
They said yes, and we brought on our first five makers. Those five quickly became ten… then fifteen… and today we’re honored to work with around 50 local makers who help handcraft every bread bag and bowl cover, still made with the same care and intention we started with.
I initially found Five Oaks Farms through a friend and have been hooked on all of their products ever since. Their bowl/banneton covers (and smaller jar covers) are impeccable quality and offer the cutest fabrics and patterns. I have similar covers from other brands, but always find myself reaching for my FOF cover ones. The medium bowl cover fits my 6qt proofing tub and large 15” glass dough bowl with PLENTY of room to spare.

Great product. It kept my bread fresher than any other way I’ve stored it. It’s also pretty and looks nice to leave out on my bread board.
I make sourdough bread all the time. I put a half a loaf from the freezer 3 days ago, and so far so good. Still soft. My other bread was good for 3-4 days, then I had to toss it.
I discovered five Oaks Farm a little over a year ago. Every product that I have bought has been of excellent quality. My most recent purchase that I received, has been the seconds organic bread bag. Honestly, I cannot tell what the imperfection is. As the quality is still there. I should be receiving very shortly, their dough sling, and another medium cloth cover. I am beyond excited
I purchased the organic cotton, birds and branches blue, beeswaxed bread bag. I placed a just purchased organic sourdough miche French county loaf from our local bakery into the bag. Going on five days now. The bread is still fresh and crusty and keeping its earthy flavor. The bread bag is a beautiful color and print. I would purchase this again and recommend to others. Done with freezing bread!

Love my bright, colorful bread bag. The bread stays fresh until the last of the loaf has been eaten. I am thrilled not to be wrapping my bread in plastic wrap anymore. So far no problems with either mold or drying out and I’ve decided to order two more bags as I am getting into making bread more often.
My sister gave me one of your bread bags for a Christmas gift. Without a doubt, it’s one of the best gifts I’ve ever received. It keeps sourdough bread fresh, all while adding a splash of whimsy to the kitchen.
I am very pleased with the Five Oaks Farm bread bag. I scoured our local stores here in south central PA and all I could find were waxed wraps, no bags. I bake a multi-grain whole wheat loaf and I'm the only one who eats that loaf. I've tried multiple storage methods to keep the loaf however none of the typical methods gave me much satisfaction. After reading about the Beeswax Bread Bags I decided to give one a try and ordered online from Five Oaks. The order process went flawless and the bag arrived in sufficient time. The personal "Thank You" card included was sincerely appreciated. I baked a fresh loaf and now the bag is performing. After about 2 days on the counter I put it in the frig. No mositure inside the bag. The crust remains firm and not soggy. The loaf is now 7 days old and I'm very satisfied.
These are so beautifully made! I love that I’m supporting a family-owned business, and that it’s a business that clearly puts so much love and care into their products. Now it’s much less of a hassle to sufficiently cover my bowl while I’m baking bread!
It’s pretty , but I have not figured out what to do with it. It was hard to use in my starter because it didn’t scrape easily.
Excellent beeswax bags. I have passed on the goodness to my step daughters. We all make sourdough & will use them to keep our produce fresher longer. We love to shop small businesses & I Love the homemade Thank you card from Noah.
It took an extra day of feeding twice a day to really get going. My first loaf turned out nicely. It was not the prettiest loaf but it was tasty! I'll keep practicing to get down how to make it pretty!
