I discovered five Oaks Farm a little over a year ago. Every product that I have bought has been of excellent quality. My most recent purchase that I received, has been the seconds organic bread bag. Honestly, I cannot tell what the imperfection is. As the quality is still there. I should be receiving very shortly, their dough sling, and another medium cloth cover. I am beyond excited

I took a chance on the seconds and I am SO GLAD! I would have chosen the patterns they sent anyway, and our sourdough tastes as fresh as day one (crust is of course a bit softer).

Absolutely nothing second rate about these Seconds! Everything works perfectly. And it was fun to be surprised by the different patterns we received, instead of having to choose from all the lovely options. I'll definitely be ordering more in the future. The art work postcard included with the order was a beautiful addition! Keep up the good work!!!

I loveeee the bowl covers! They are so cute and have the inner waterproof lining. I also have 2 bread bags that I'm using for the first time currently and so far, so good! Definitely my go-to!!

I’m so pleased with my beeswax bread storage bag. I have kept my home made sourdough bread inside for two weeks! I chose to get a ‘seconds’ bag, and it is just lovely. Not sure why it is a ‘second’ because it looks fine and works well.

I just started using it yesterday. So far so good. The only thing so far is I had asked if it was big enough for a sandwich loaf and was told yes. Well it is a good thing I don't bake a normal size loaf but a bit smaller. There was not much at all to fold under. You may want to put a length on them so people know if they bake a normal store bought bread size it will not fit it.

I used to make fun of my Aunt for using "shower caps" on her bowls. I also thought they were gross - plastic (yuck) and honestly, how can you get them all the way clean?
I have old multi color mixing bowls - you know the ones. They actually were my Grandmother's, and I am becoming extra conscious of using plastics, microwaves, etc. etc. But what would I use to cover these bowls? Plastic wrap? AAArrrggghhh!
Then I ran across Five Oaks Farms. I was not actively looking for bowl covers, I actually went there for their waxed bread bags as I am also starting to bake my own bread.
Within the past few years I have decided not to purchase from most big box and rain forest mail order companies. I find that I purchase less stuff I "want" as opposed to what I actually need. And when you do that, you have a few extra pennies to search out and support small American family companies.
I went to purchase my bread bags and saw they had a "Seconds" section. I love nothing more than a bargain, so I figured I would check it out. I wound up ordering my bread bags, as well as several of these bowl covers, a spurtle and a lovely body lotion bar.
Now to the actual review - LOL. I currently have my big old Yellow Pyrex bowl in my fridge with cut up pineapple and covered with one of my new bowl covers. The fit is perfect. And the best part is that I can just throw it into the wash - do not have to worry about missing a crease with food, or that it will never dry in certain spots and get moldy. SInce it was a second, I did not get to choose the fabric pattern. I say "Good!" as they have so many -it would have taken me forever to decide. The elastic is not too tight or too loose (to stretch if you have mobility issues) but firmly grips the bowl. I cannot wait to make bread and use it on the banneton.
The best part? Every time I see it, I think of the family that is spending time together, having their own business, running their farm and then expanding to employ locals. This is the way America is supposed to be.

These bags really are beautiful. I received patterns with beautiful flowers and one with lots of farm scenes. That ware well made and work very well.

Amazing quality and a little less expensive. The FOF beeswax bags are the best out there. I received one for my birthday and they are far superior to any other reusable bread bags that I’ve tried. I figured I would try two of the ‘perfectly Imperfect” ones and honestly, I’m not sure what is imperfect about the two I received. They are both beautiful and seem to be the same high quality as the original.

Most importantly, they keep my fresh baked sourdough (or other baked goods) fresh for at least 2 weeks! Highly recommend!
