You don’t need another sourdough video. You need someone standing next to you in the kitchen.
If you’ve saved 40 sourdough reels, bought a bag of bread flour, and still haven’t baked a single loaf, it isn’t because you can’t. Most sourdough instructions are written for people who already know how to make sourdough. They say things like “feed until active” and “shape with tension” and assume you know what that looks like.
This bundle was built to fix that. It gives you three things: a starter with a long track record, the tool you’ll use every day, and a guide that takes you from a dry starter to a finished boule one step at a time.
What’s inside
Our 100+ Year Old Sourdough Starter and Three Recipes
This starter has been fed and kept alive for more than a century. We tried to make our own starter and simply couldn't get it strong enough to successfully bake with. When my friend gave this one to me, it was a game changer!
A starter that old is strong, stable, and forgiving, which is exactly what you want when you’re learning. It ships freeze-dried, so it travels well and wakes up in your kitchen with flour, water, and a few days of feeding.
The Original Spurtle
Our most-loved spurtle, handcrafted from teak. At 1.5" x 11" it’s narrow enough to stir starter in a jar and scrape down the sides, and sturdy enough to mix shaggy dough without bending. Once you have one, you’ll use it for everything from your starter to your scrambled eggs.
My Sourdough Friend
This is the part that makes the bundle different. My Sourdough Friend walks you through your first boule step by step, from waking up your starter, to mixing, folding, shaping, scoring, and baking. You’ll know what to do next and what it should look like when you get there. There are QR codes sprinkled throughout so you can actually see what the dough should look and feel like at each step.
Who it’s for
Why it matters
Every spurtle and starter we ship is packed by hand here in Hazel Green, Alabama, by local women who earn a living from home without having to choose between a paycheck and their families. Your first loaf supports that.
Your first boule is closer than you think. Add the bundle to your cart, and we’ll take it from here together.
