At Five Oaks Farm, we value craftsmanship, sustainability, and reducing waste. From time to time, we create products that don’t quite meet our aesthetic standards but are still perfectly functional. Instead of letting these pieces go unused, we offer them to you as part of our “Seconds” collection.
These items may have:
Spurtles: small chips, slight asymmetry, or off-set holes that don’t affect their use.
Bread Bags: fabric flaws, ink spots from the textile printing process, or minor sewing imperfections that don’t impact their ability to keep bread fresh.
Bowl Covers: occasional visible selvage edges from the fabric strips we repurpose to make them.
Each piece still does its job beautifully—it just wears a few quirks that make it one-of-a-kind. By purchasing from our Seconds collection, you not only save money but also help us minimize waste and honor the resources that go into every handmade product. Same quality. Same purpose. Just a little extra character.
To keep things simple (and the price low),
prints and patterns are random
and will depend on what we have in stock
at the time of your order.
⭐️ Because these items are discounted and perfectly imperfect, they are final sale, no refunds or exchanges but we think you’ll love their charm as much as we do.

I discovered five Oaks Farm a little over a year ago. Every product that I have bought has been of excellent quality. My most recent purchase that I received, has been the seconds organic bread bag. Honestly, I cannot tell what the imperfection is. As the quality is still there. I should be receiving very shortly, their dough sling, and another medium cloth cover. I am beyond excited
Awesome beeswax bread bags and spurtle and I appreciate they are made in the USA.
I took a chance on the seconds and I am SO GLAD! I would have chosen the patterns they sent anyway, and our sourdough tastes as fresh as day one (crust is of course a bit softer).
I am BLOWN AWAY. Considering grabbing more for my adult children!
I'm excited to try these. I'm concerned about the rough edges leaving splinters in food, for this reason, I probably wouldn't buy "seconds" again. I could try sanding them, however I do not know what product to use to reseal it.
Perfectly usable and boce
I love this beautiful, and safe spurtle. I'll be back for more!!
I got the beeswax bag...it was great! The stitching was a little off...but hardly noticed. Thank you
Too beautiful to be a second!!
came when they said it would and the 2nd's spurtle is great
Beautiful products with wonderful intention behind every item
Great company! I love my bowl and jar covers.
Perfect for use on my GF sourdough starter- lovely
Awesome quality wood! Bigger than expected but I love it!
Imperfection doesn't take anything away from the functionality.
They may be listed as seconds but there is really nothing wrong with them and they are offered at a discount. Love them!
I'm impressed that they actually work and bread is fresh.
Absolutely nothing second rate about these Seconds! Everything works perfectly. And it was fun to be surprised by the different patterns we received, instead of having to choose from all the lovely options. I'll definitely be ordering more in the future. The art work postcard included with the order was a beautiful addition! Keep up the good work!!!
Love it! Perfect
Everything arrived quickly and exactly as ordered anxious to use each item.
I find it to be perfect!
Works perfectly
Beautiful and excellent quality! Love, love, love!
I loveeee the bowl covers! They are so cute and have the inner waterproof lining. I also have 2 bread bags that I'm using for the first time currently and so far, so good! Definitely my go-to!!
Love these products! Very well made. Great fabric color and design choices.
I’m so pleased with my beeswax bread storage bag. I have kept my home made sourdough bread inside for two weeks! I chose to get a ‘seconds’ bag, and it is just lovely. Not sure why it is a ‘second’ because it looks fine and works well.
So glad to have something made in the USA!!!!
Yay!!
They are all well made and work perfectly.
Love these perfectly imperfect bags and dough stirrer. Will be buying from here again.
Bought 4 , one for me and others for gifts.
They were well received. Haven't used mine yet, but anxious too.
Would highly recommend.
I just started using it yesterday. So far so good. The only thing so far is I had asked if it was big enough for a sandwich loaf and was told yes. Well it is a good thing I don't bake a normal size loaf but a bit smaller. There was not much at all to fold under. You may want to put a length on them so people know if they bake a normal store bought bread size it will not fit it.
Love my perfectly imperfect bread bag! So happy with all my purchases!!
