I never thought I needed a spurtle! With fresh milled flour’s density, I use this beautiful wooden tool to coax it out of the bowl and onto my silicone mat for shaping. I’m still thinking of other uses, like stirring the dry ingredients, smoothing batter in a pan.. and who knows what all else?

It’s pretty , but I have not figured out what to do with it. It was hard to use in my starter because it didn’t scrape easily.

I love this spurtle; I've ordered 2 more. One is a gift for the sister getting the bread bag. This tool makes stirring bread dough a breeze and the size is perfect as well. I also like it better than either wooden spoons I have. It mixes, scrapes, and cleans very well and I'm glad I tried one.

If you do not own one yet, get one. Get two! I love the many uses of this handy kitchen tool. I’ve used it for mixing, scraping, baking, spreading and cooking too. I love its size and the convenient curved shape and flat edge. The wood is perfect and smooth and it cures itself the more you use it. It’s kid sized for easy use and adult size for any use! Love the spurtle for mixing my sourdough. It works just better than my other tools and cleans off easily. I also use it for my dough up until the time I mix with my hands. It is light weight and easy to hold.
